FAQ

HOW WE APPROACH WEDDING VIDEOGRAPHY ON YOUR WEDDING DAY?

We always take a discreet approach while filming during your wedding day. We believe in being as ‘invisible’ and unobtrusive as possible. We’ve had couples and family members tell us they can’t believe all the footage we got and the film we are able to create because they don’t remember seeing us at the wedding ceremony and reception at all.

HOW ARE WE DIFFERENT FROM OTHERS WEDDING VIDEOGRAPHY COMPANIES:

First: It's our opinion that there is a candidness about the day. The ability to capture those candid moments and expressions lends a genuine feeling to the finished film. It becomes an experience rather than a viewing. We LOVE when couples write their own vows, love letters to each other, the officiant says something profound, or there are speeches at the reception. We are able to use all the amazing moments from your wedding day to help craft your wedding film.

Second: Editing. The editing plays just as important part in your wedding film as the actual filming does. Don’t get us wrong you still need to have the skills to shoot, white balance, and compose shots properly but the ability to craft your story from the footage. we want you to be able to the joy, the pride, the humor, & the spirit of each special moment of your day. Your wedding day is unique and personal & we think your video should be also.

You should know we don’t just create music videos that anyone can do. When you hire Command Performance Video for your wedding you are hiring us to tell your story and to do it in a way no one else can or even will. We carefully craft your wedding film using the perfect shots, the perfect narrative, and the perfect music track.

HOW LONG DOES IT TAKE TO GET MY VIDEO AFTERWARD?

After a typical wedding day where we are on location(s) 8 hours and up, we’ll end up with 100-200 Gigabytes of footage. That equates to around 2-3 hours of continuous footage per camera, 300-800 video clips and 2-6 audio sources. So going through and organizing all of the footage, synching footage and audio, putting your wedding footage together to re-create your wedding day, sourcing music, color correction and grading all can take up to 40-60+ hours over the course of typically 6-12 weeks depending on the time of year. A February wedding will usually be done much more quickly than a July or August wedding simply because of the volume of the season.

WHY DO WE RECEIVE A DIGITAL FILE AS A FINISHED PRODUCT?

DVDs, although great for their time, are only able to display DVD resolution 720x480. Most likely, the TV in your family room is capable of 6 times that resolution and they are all external media ready. DVDs are also prone to a condition known as Disc rot. So receiving your finished files digitally will allow you to copy the files to multiple computers, multiple hard drives and/or store them in the Cloud (Justcloud, ZipCloud, Mozy, or DropBox) for safe keeping and future proofing. It’s important that once you receive your files to take the proper steps to backup and safeguard your investment.

WHAT SONGS CAN WE CHOOSE FOR THE INLAYED MUSIC TIMES OF THE VIDEO?

Literally anything! Give us artist and title or the song itself and tell us where in your story you would like to hear it. It's that easy.

DO YOU PROVIDE A CONTRACT? WHAT ABOUT PAYMENT?

Yes. Of Course. The agreement explains what you get including locations and times of services and contains whatever installment plan we come to. We have always been very easy about the money end of the business. We believe that if we take care of the service, you'll take care of the money.

I ALREADY HIRED MY WEDDING PHOTOGRAPHER. DO YOU GET ALONG WITH OTHER WEDDING VENDORS?

Absolutely! We call it playing nice in the sandbox! We get along better than others because so many others are competing for the photographers position or pulling you away to do something "Cinematic" that wouldn't otherwise occur on your day. we will not pretend that we can "make" your day better by taking up time that your photographer needs or pulling you off of your dance floor for some "creative" shot. Some of the shots are pretty, but not nearly as beautiful as two people celebrating their love with family and friends.
